Role: Design and Animation.
For the Nike's Free 5.0 launch, I created a visually captivating campaign that transformed the product into art through innovative kaleidoscopic compositions. The concept elegantly communicated the shoe's exceptional flexibility by reimagining the footwear as abstract building blocks within symmetrical patterns.
I designed approximately 10 distinct compositions that were implemented across Nike Town storefronts worldwide. Each design highlighted the shoes' flexibility by deliberately distorting and twisting them to the point where they transcended their original form, creating mesmerizing visual patterns that commanded attention from passersby.
The project extended beyond static displays to include multi-screen video installations where viewers could journey through this dynamic world of transforming footwear. Working alongside an other talented animator, we created motion content that brought the twisting and folding movements to life, further emphasizing the product's core benefit.
The vibrant colorways of the shoes—featuring striking combinations of blue, orange, neon yellow, and purple—provided a natural palette that created rich visual interest throughout the compositions. The symmetrical nature of the kaleidoscope design perfectly mirrored the campaign's "Free Your Self" message, creating an immediate visual connection to the product's flexibility.
This comprehensive campaign encompassed print materials, store design, and digital media, providing a cohesive brand experience that successfully captured attention in high-traffic retail environments while maintaining artistic integrity.
